There's a lot of debate online about what Bizon Box provides vs. alternative enclosures and whether or not it's worth the additional cost and personally, I found that it is.

Alternative enclosures seem to require quite a bit of serious DIY retrofitting, including sawing off parts of the casing, all of which seemed sketchy and slipshod.

I also found that without Bizon box trying to get your Mac to recognize your card can be a really complex process of typing in strings of info into terminal, downloading developer software, and all sorts of stuff that's confusing and fairly opaque to the layman. Bizon made this super-easy by including an installer that quickly runs a setup to get your gpu up and recognized.

That alone, saved me a ton of time.

Two things I could offer as improvement for Bizon Box would be these:

- I would love to have enclosures that fully protected the GPU inside (currently with larger GPUs, the butt end is still sticking out which is fine enough I guess for desktop use, but problematic for traveling).

- I would love the enclosure to support a wider variety of GPUs. (One thing that's buried in the FAQs is that, for example, many brands of the 980ti will NOT fit, like the MSI versions. I also think it would be helpful to put some of that information a little more to the forefront where people are more likely to see it. I read through the FAQs twice and then unfortunately got myself and MSI 980ti only to discover it wouldn't fit).

CONCLUSION

If you're someone like me who does 3D animation or other GPU-based motion graphics and wants to stay on a Mac OS, this is a great solution, especially if you're not someone who's otherwise particularly computer savvy with coding and building your own DIY machines. My only comment is that if they offered some larger enclosures to fully protect the largest GPUs, even if it cost more money, it would be well worth it to me.

I'm getting 24 fps playback on Raw footage (full debayer) from Arri Alexa open gate with 6 nodes of color grading. Great performance!

Comment:: I cant be happier with the product. I had some trouble installing the card and getting the computer to "recognize" the card but the customer service team was very helpful.

I have an iMac and use the card for Premiere Pro and AfterEffects on the Mac and Arion Render on PC.

It flies on both and once the card is installed and recognized by the system it works perfectly. I am planning on purchasing a second card within the next couple of weeks so I can use two cards on my iMac.

I work mostly on Mac (Photoshop, AfterEffects, FinalCutPro, Premiere Pro) and partially on PC Bootcamp (3dsMax, Zbrush and render engines.)

This setup allowed me to keep my workflow but improve the speeds of Rendering. Color corrected compositions with 6 layers of tweaks in AfterEffects as well as Renders in Arion Render for 3ds Max.

This product was a dream come true, I was considering purchasing a PC only to take advantage of the additional GPU, but now I can use the Mac configuration I love and benefit from the use of the external cards.
Highly recommended.

Comment:: 6 times faster Premiere – This is how!

A couple of months ago I bought a TOP specced iMac Retina 5K, and expected great performance with Adobe Premiere. I was disappointed when I realized that my 3 year old Mac with Nvidia-card and CUDA outran my new $6000 wonder-machine.

The reason is that the new iMacs are delivered with a AMD Radeon card, that is not properly supported by Adobe.

After several telephone calls with adobe support, apple support, and some emailing back and forth, I concluded that I had to figure this out on my own - Neither Apple nor Adobe seemed to be able to help.

THE SOLUTION

The solution for me was the BizonBOX.

I've now tested it for a week, and projects that rendered at 35 minutes now render at 5 minutes!

On top of that, I get less program freezes and errors on my exports.

The power supply makes a little noise, and the installation is a few steps, but besides of that, I am very satisfied with my "new" Mac.

More than 6 X times speed (!) is worth every dollar for me, and I would recommend this for all of you, having trouble with the AMD Card.

Comment:: Bought this device to accelerate my MacBook Pro late 15's 15" retina graphics capability. Had the guys install an EVGA GTX 980 Ti as part of the order.

Shipping was fast and item was well packaged for its long trip to UK. Item worked as described.

Can be used as a graphic engine for Cuda without display or can be used to run Mac games at high frames up to 1440.

Also got it to work with windows 10 Bootcamp. PC gaming at high frame rates too. Only issue I have is the Power Supply is a little noisy.

Recommended upgrade for any Mac and essential for those with 13' retina or Macbook Air.

Comment:: I bought a BizonBOX chassis for a GTX 980 ti for my iMac. Until recently I have been unable to run DaVinci Resolve without getting constant "GPU Memory Full" errors, or worse, full out crashes.

Dmitry was very helpful answering all my questions before placing an order. Everything arrived well packaged and protected. And the assembly guide was a nice touch. Happy to say that I'm up and running and very satisfied with this purchase.

I briefly considered doing this on my own as a DIY project, but the BizonBOX saved me a lot of trial and error, and headaches. Will definitely buy again as the need arises.

Comment:: Pros:
- I'm now able to run games like Witcher 3 on my late 2013 MBP (maybe not on "Ultra" settings, but ~30/45 FPS on "High" ain't bad)!
- Pretty straight-forward installation

Cons
- The metal case is too small to host most graphic cards. You will eventually end up using it "naked" or... cutting it/making your own case.
- All those pathed wires.. they do the job, I wish there was more "elegant" solution to power up the device.
