So far the performance increase is great! Red Giant is faster, but still lags/freezes a bit. They have poor GPU acceleration in the first place. Neat Video crashed when I tried setting up the GTX 980 TI (only tried once though). I haven't test REVision too much, and Filmconvert works great! 5D to RGB is much faster as well general speed and less crashes in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects!
Dmitry and Peter have been great in assisting me with getting started on the Bizon Box 2. Dmitry responds quickly and efficiently, and responds patiently with all my extensive questions. I greatly appreciate this, as well as Peter's discounts and ease of read emails. Overall very happy with this product so far!

- Only complaint so far is that it seems weird the box wasn't made long enough to house the GPU. Another minor thing is the power supply is a bit loud.

- I bought the BizonBox to render in Cycles. I am able to render directly from OS X. No need to install Windows. The benchmark was nearly identical to the Windows render times. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro , 2.9Ghz i7, 8Gb RAM and 750Mb disk. This unit runs flawlessly as long as you disable "sleep mode". Installation was straight forward and support was helpful with the entire process. Read a few posts about how the BizonBox couldn't possibly live up to the performance claims. I can tell you that it does.
Ignore the comments about how it's not worth the money. If you want to start rendering the day your BizonBox arrives and not waste days, perhaps weeks trying to build your own, it's worth the money. to me anyway.

- I Wanted a purpose built external GPU that I could rely on to work on Windows 10. After a number of emails to support to identify the product I would get the most benefits from, Bizon tech delivered a product that surpassed my expectations.
The immense improvement of the GTX1080 over my GTX960m utilising CUDA on HitFilm Composite productions has made a massive productive difference to my work allowing more time in the creative process.

- I was looking for a external gpu solution for my 27" iMac to maximize my Octane render engine performance. Now there are a lot of external boxes out there but all of them come with some technical no how which I do not have.
I came across the bizonbox and it looked like the ideal solution. I ordered one without the graphics card because I knew the import taxes in my country are very high so I got one of them locally (ZOTAC geforce 980).
Installation was a breeze if you read the guide correctly. The graphics card really give the engine a good boost, maybe 8x times faster. One thing to note is that the machine doesn't support the power safe mode (why I gave it 4 stars), it will crash your system.
Much thumbs up for the (technical) support for making sure the Box got here in one piece after some delivery troubles (my fault).

The issue with the sleep mode is a known one and is related to OS X. We hope that this issue will be fixed in the future.

- I use Two BizonBoxes with GTX 980 Ti with MacPro Late 2013 working with 3d Software for motion design: Cinema4d and Octane render.
I don't rate 5 just because of the annoyng problem that freeze the system starting the mac too much time.
Thanks to Bizon that allowed me to utilize octane and speed up with time and quality!

Benchmark without BizonBox + 980ti = 40
Benchmark with BizonBox + 980 ti = 160
There's a lot of debate online about what Bizon Box provides vs. alternative enclosures and whether or not it's worth the additional cost and personally, I found that it is.
Alternative enclosures seem to require quite a bit of serious DIY retrofitting, including sawing off parts of the casing, all of which seemed sketchy and slipshod.
I also found that without Bizon box trying to get your Mac to recognize your card can be a really complex process of typing in strings of info into terminal, downloading developer software, and all sorts of stuff that's confusing and fairly opaque to the layman. Bizon made this super-easy by including an installer that quickly runs a setup to get your gpu up and recognized.
That alone, saved me a ton of time.
Two things I could offer as improvement for Bizon Box would be these:
- I would love to have enclosures that fully protected the GPU inside (currently with larger GPUs, the butt end is still sticking out which is fine enough I guess for desktop use, but problematic for traveling).
- I would love the enclosure to support a wider variety of GPUs. (One thing that's buried in the FAQs is that, for example, many brands of the 980ti will NOT fit, like the MSI versions. I also think it would be helpful to put some of that information a little more to the forefront where people are more likely to see it. I read through the FAQs twice and then unfortunately got myself and MSI 980ti only to discover it wouldn't fit).
CONCLUSION
If you're someone like me who does 3D animation or other GPU-based motion graphics and wants to stay on a Mac OS, this is a great solution, especially if you're not someone who's otherwise particularly computer savvy with coding and building your own DIY machines. My only comment is that if they offered some larger enclosures to fully protect the largest GPUs, even if it cost more money, it would be well worth it to me.
